Tasmanian farmers and landowners have great opportunity to sequester carbon on their properties by planting and managing trees.
Private Forests Tasmania is pleased to invite you to join its team at Tasmanian farmer Dougal Morrison’s property ‘Al Cala’ at St Peters Pass in Oatlands on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, to learn about how planting and managing trees can efficiently store carbon; and to launch operations for Dougal’s Stems for CO2 Project.
The Stems for CO2 Project is being run by Private Forests Tasmania with financial support from the State Government’s Department of Renewables, Climate and Future Industries (ReCFIT) and provided grant funding to support the establishment of commercial tree plantings on properties for carbon and timber opportunities.
This event will include an opportunity to visit the location of Dougal’s planting and hear from Dougal about forest establishment planning for carbon and timber. There will be a presentation with information about the carbon modelling and a panel discussion with key representatives to investigate the benefits of planting trees for carbon and timber outcomes and the opportunities for Tasmanian farmers and landowners.
A light lunch and coffee/tea will be provided.
