Flowers Small, creamy white clusters. Male and female usually on separate plants, delicately perfumed.
Form Medium to tall shrub or small tree,branches covered with stellate hairs when young, leaves alternate, many stellate hairs below.

Habitat Notes Tas. endemic. Common in moist eucalypt forests and gullies of southern Tasmania.

Soil Tolerance Phosphorous intolerant; Well-drained
General Notes Fast growing and appreciates moist, well drained soils wih shade. Also flowers sporadically at other times of the year. Not suitable below powerlines.
